Helmed by long-time news anchor Shane Jones, the expansion of the weekend morning news is part of a larger effort by Global Edmonton to solidify its position as Northern Alberta’s most watched news provider. Both newscasts will include up to the minute weather forecasts with Kevin O’Connell and will extensively utilize Twitter and Facebook to fully engage Edmontonians.

“Adding three more hours to Global Edmonton’s weekend morning news allows us to significantly boost our ability to present the news that matters most to our viewers,” says Michael Fulmes, Global Edmonton News Director. “Our new tools and delivery systems, paired with our new newscasts, will provide a whole new level of local news coverage.”
