CALGARY – The Calgary Fire Department is investigating what caused an afternoon fire in the community of Varsity on Sunday.
Firefighters were called to a two storey home in the 3700 block of 37th Street N.W. around 4 p.m.

When they arrived, crews found heavy smoke and flames shooting from a basement window.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control.
No injuries were reported.
