SASKATOON – Three people are in custody after an attempt to evade Saskatoon police late Thursday evening in a stolen vehicle ended in a crash.

Police were first called to the 10-block of Maxwell Place around 11 p.m. for a weapons complaint.

Patrol officers were able to locate the vehicle thought to be linked to the original complaint with the help of the air support unit.

The vehicle was stopped on Northumberland Avenue but the driver took off a short time later and eventually turned onto Palmer Place, crashing into a parked vehicle.

Two people then fled and a canine unit was unable to track them down.

Three others in the vehicle, a man and two women, were arrested and are facing numerous charges. Their names have not been released.

They are scheduled to see a justice of the peace on Friday evening.

The vehicle was later found to have been stolen from Regina.
