CALGARY – The Calgary Police Service is adding social media to their arsenal.

Beginning at 11:30a.m. today, CPS will host a live chat on Twitter asking Calgarians what they would like to see from them on the web.

The chat will run until 1:00p.m.

You can participate by following @CalgaryPolice and the hashtag #TellCPS.

Those not on Twitter can use TweetChat to follow the discussion.

Police are also planning an upcoming discussion on Facebook.

It’s not clear yet if social media sites will be used to help fight crime or report it but it will play a larger role in getting information out to the public.
