Charges laid in connection with alleged copper wire thefts

Four people are facing charges in connection with the alleged theft of $600,000 worth of copper wire and industrial equipment.

Police received a call on August 28th from a farmer reporting suspicious activity in a field northeast of Edmonton.

Officers found 10 spools of copper wire when they arrived at the scene.

Further investigations led investigators to other residences where 10 more spools of copper wire were discovered, along with a 2007 Sterling picker truck with 40′ trailer and rigging equipment, 4 quads, a Ford truck, industrial equipment, and other stolen property.

Ricky Labine, 45, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, break and enter, disqualified driving, and breach of probation orders.

Robert Powder, 48, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Robert Sequin, 43, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, and outstanding warrants.

Shawna Manning, 42, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.
