SASKATOON – A man had his vehicle seized after police clocked him doing 197 km/h on Valley Road Tuesday evening.

The 20-year-old driver of the 2012 Ford Mustang was spotted by members of the traffic unit around 8 p.m. travelling at the high rate of speed.

Officers were able to stop him in the 90 km/h zone.

Along with the vehicle seizure, he was given a $795 speeding ticket.

Under new traffic laws that came into effect on June 27, 2014, vehicles will be seized for seven days for any driver caught going 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.
