LUCKNOW, India – India’s air force says one of its helicopters has crashed in northern India, killing all seven people on board, including two pilots.

An air force statement says the helicopter made a “May Day”‘ call soon after taking off Friday and contact was lost on radar and radio. The crash occurred near Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh state.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
The statement said there was no reported damage on the ground.
