As tornadoes tore across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba over the weekend, one Saskatchewan man got a close encounter with a massive twister.
A man in the video – posted as Mason Neufeld – is clearly awestruck as he stares unbelievably as the massive tornado makes its way across nearby fields. He eventually realizes that he is perhaps too close for comfort and tries to run.

“We’re safe now…I think,” he’s heard saying on the YouTube video.
The tornado begins to grow in size as it continues.
Over the weekend, several tornadoes tore across the province. Environment Canada continues to survey the damage.
Standing so close to a tornado is extremely ill-advised.
Though they can be beautiful and awe-inspiring, if you see a tornado, seek shelter immediately, rather than record the event. Tornadoes can change direction suddenly, as was witnessed in May 2013 when three seasoned storm chasers died in Oklahoma when a powerful tornado turned on them.
