‘M*A*S*H’ star Jamie Farr released from Edmonton hospital

EDMONTON – American actor Jamie Farr is to return to the stage after falling ill during a performance in Edmonton.

The 80-year-old is best known for his role as the cross-dressing soldier Maxwell Klinger in the long-running hit TV show M*A*S*H, which first aired in 1972.

He was performing in The Last Romance at the Mayfield Dinner Theatre when he fell ill during the play on Sunday night.

Theatre spokeswoman Jessica Rogers says he was taken by ambulance to hospital.

He has since been released and is in good health, but Rogers could provide no other details.

She says Farr is to resume his starring role in the show Tuesday.
