A
40-year-old Alberta man died Thursday after
drowning in Skaha
Lake.
The
incident happened around 3:30 p.m.
Police
say the man, who was vacationing in Penticton,
attempted to swim out towards his daughter who was floating on a raft far from
shore.

man disappeared under the water and did not resurface.
He
was found at the bottom of the lake shortly after.
Emergency
crews attempted to revive him but he was pronounced dead at Penticton hospital.
The
victim’s name has not been released.
