Rainfall warning indicated by green. Global News

WINNIPEG – Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for parts of southeastern Manitoba and northwestern Ontario.

Bissett down to Pinawa as well as the Kenora and Fort Frances areas are under the warning.

Environment Canada says a low pressure system is continuing to bring the rain to northwestern Ontario and eastern Manitoba Sunday afternoon and evenings. At times the rain is heavy.

Thirty to 40 millimeters of rain are expected over the Kenora area. The Norman Dam was opened there Saturday to accommodate rising water levels on Lake of the Woods and the Winnipeg River.

The rain is expected to taper off Monday morning.
