WINNIPEG-Owners of waterfront property in Northern Ontario are being told to guard their houses and cottages against rising water levels.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the area along the Winnipeg River and Lake of the Woods Saturday as the area is set to receive significant rainfall. Up to 40 millimeters could fall Sunday.
Saturday, the Lake of the Woods Control Board opened the Norman Dam completely. Because of that water levels on the lake are expected to rise.
