CALGARY – Thousands of people have gathered in Calgary for the Global Petroleum Show – and officials say it’s the largest one they’ve ever hosted.
The oil and gas exhibition brings together energy professionals, international delegates and exhibitors from across the world.
The show is attracting 2,000 companies, 65,000 delegates and will inject $69 million into Calgary’s economy.

The Global Petroleum Show features the latest technology in the energy industry with the focus on project construction and oilfield services.
It was first launched in 1968, and has continued to grow ever since.
Previously the show was a biennial event, but 2014 marks the first year it will be held annually.
Officials with Global Petroleum Show say they expect to draw $8.9 billion in business transactions to the province.
The event begins on Tuesday and runs through until Thursday, June 12th.
