HALIFAX – Police have re-opened the Halifax Public Gardens Monday afternoon after evacuating it due to reports of a possible hidden weapon.
The park was evacuated around 11:40 a.m., some time after police received a report of a man walking in the area talking to himself about a gun hidden in the park.

The area was locked down while officers and a K-9 unit searched the park, but nothing was found.
Police found a 24-year-old man who was not armed and took him into custody for questioning.
