WolfCop has premiered Canada-wide. The Regina-based film hit theatres Friday.
Last spring, the local creators won a national contest with a $1-million grand prize, and they decided to film the movie here in Saskatchewan.
The moment of truth Friday though, as movie-goers lined up to get their tickets.
It was received fairly well, with most viewers saying they laughed and screamed over the course of the film.

“It’s the reaction we hoped for,” said writer and director of the film Lowell Dean. “We heard a lot of laughs, some scares and some screams. It’s exactly what we were going for. We wanted it to be not just one thing. It’s always a tightrope when you’re mixing comedy and horror, but that’s also the fun of it.”
Friday night was also the first time any of the actors in the film had watched it. Our reporter spoke with a few of the leads briefly who mentioned it was “more than they thought it would be”, and they were “surprised by the end product”.
When we spoke with Dean at the “Bloody Red Carpet After Party” at Beer Brothers, he hadn’t heard what they thought yet.
“I’m going to everyone really liquored up, and get them to tell me honestly what they really thought,” he joked.
The movie will play at the Galaxy for at least a week, depending on it’s popularity.
