Banff Centre Radio will be home to three radio stations, including one that will feature a live morning show and podcasts.
The English and French Park Radio will now be run by the Banff Centre and a third station will feature more arts- and culture-driven music.
“We do a lot of great stuff here at Banff Centre, artist meeting artist and then they leave and take the experience with them,” explains senior radio producer, Dominic Girard. “The idea is to start pushing it more robustly.”
The station will continue to feature information about the National Park including weather reports, trail closures and mountain culture living.
Parks Canada will also be contributing content.
“Hopefully it will give them a taste of who lives here and get them thinking about conservation,” says Michelle Maculo with Parks Canada. “ Think about keeping animals safe.”
The French and English information stations will launch June 23rd on 101.1 and 103.3 FM.
A launch date and name for the third station hasn’t been decided.
