WINNIPEG – Darcy Oake, who wowed the Britain’s Got Talent judges with an audition in which he made multiple birds magically appear, will be in the hit show’s semi-finals Monday night.

The magician found out Sunday he had moved on to the semi-finals and will appear on the show live to attempt to advance to the next stage.

The Canadian has become a YouTube star on the strength of his audition, which has had more than 24 million views.

Oake tweeted that he’s excited about Monday’s show and laughed at the focus of a story about him in the Daily Star.

Oake, whose father is sportscaster Scott Oake, has worked as a magician for years but decided to audition for Britain’s Got Talent to increase his profile.
