Canadian Chris Horodecki to headline Bellator fight card at Casino Rama

TORONTO – Lightweight Chris (The Polish Hammer) Horodecki of London, Ont., will take on Chris (The So Cal Kid) Saunders in the main event of Bellator 47 on July 23 at Casino Rama.

The 23-year-old Horodecki (17-3) is a veteran of the IFL and WEC who fought in the first MMA card at Casino Rama in April, submitting David Castillo in the first round. Saunders (9-1) is a former Montreal resident who has won his last seven fights.

The card, which marks the Canadian debut of the Bellator Fighting Championships, also features the semifinals of the Bellator featherweight tournament as Marlon Sandro takes on Nazareno Malegarie and Pat Curran meets Ronnie (Kid Ninja) Mann.

Also on the card, former Canadian paratrooper Will Romero tackles Daniel Langbeen at a catchweight and Toronto lightweight Alka Matewa faces Alex Ricci of Woodbridge, Ont.

Former Canadian Muay Thai champion Syd Barnier takes on bantamweight Denis Puric of Stoney Creek, Ont., and Daron Cruickshank meets welterweight Sergej Juskevic.

Bantamweight Bryan Goldsby faces Bo Harris and Ottawa welterweight Christopher St. Jean tackles Lee Villeneuve.
