WINNIPEG – An attack near The Zoo, an Osborne Street bar, left a man in critical condition on Thursday morning.

The man was attacked at around 3:45 a.m. near the Osborne Village Motor Inn bar, said police, who were called to the spot while the assault was in progress.

One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Cruisers blocked one lane of northbound traffic on Osborne during the morning rush hour, causing traffic to back up on Osborne and Pembina Highway.

Police tape stretched down Osborne and evidence markers could be seen inside the motor inn.

A pool of blood could be seen on the sidewalk near the bar between Stradbrook and Wardlaw avenues.

No one has been arrested, police said.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call police at 204-986-2877.
