Jimmy Fallon accepts Habs’ NHL playoff series wager

MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens threw down the gauntlet to Jimmy Fallon by challenging the Tonight Show host to accept a friendly wager — and late Friday the comedian accepted.

Of course, the New York Rangers sided with Fallon.

After beating the Boston Bruins in a seven-game series, the Montreal Canadiens have advanced to the Eastern Conference final, where the team will play against the Rangers. The first game of the series kicks off on Saturday.

The Canadiens have proposed that if the Rangers win the series, the team will put a photo of Fallon as its Twitter avatar for a day, but if the Rangers lose, Fallon would wear a Habs’ jersey during one of his monologues on The Tonight Show.

The team then upped the ante by posting a doctored photo of talk-show host Conan O’Brien, photoshopped to picture him wearing a Habs jersey.
