WINNIPEG – A 55-year-old Nova Scotia man has been charged after RCMP found 62 kilograms of marijuana in a semi-trailer truck in Manitoba.
Lawrence Edward Millen is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana.
Millen was arrested at about 2 a.m. Monday after police pulled over the truck he was driving on the Trans-Canada Highway near Portage La Prairie, Man.
His arrest was part of a two-month investigation called Project Durable, RCMP said.
Millen appeared in a Winnipeg court on Tuesday and has been released on conditions. His next court appearance has been scheduled for May 29.
