GRAND FORKS – A man who set fire to two hotels in Grand Forks, destroying one of them, has pleaded guilty to arson charges.
In March 2012, flames ripped through the historic Grand Forks Hotel.
It was more than 100 years old.
The same night, the nearby Winnipeg Hotel was also set ablaze.
Fire fighters managed to save that structure.
Within hours of the two fires, police arrested Christopher James Cusak, 47, and seized a gasoline jerry can from his home.
Cusak has now admitted to two counts of arson in relation to an inhabited property.
The judge ordered a Pre-Sentence Report and Cusak returns to court in June.
