REGINA – Police in Regina are searching for a dog that was shot by an officer after the canine bit him in the foot.
Police say plainclothes officers were at a house Thursday night to arrest a man when he opened the door and a dog described as a pit bull came out.
The man closed the door and locked it, but left the dog outside.
Police say an officer fired three shots after the dog attacked him and bit him in the foot.
The dog ran off and it’s not known if any of the shots hit the animal.
The man was eventually arrested and the police officer taken for medical treatment.
