WEST KELOWNA — West Kelowna officials say the cause of a minor fire in an industrial area late Tuesday night appears to be accidental.
The fire was reported shortly after 11 p.m. at a commercial building in the 1100-block of Stevens Road where smoke was billowing from one of the units.
“The fire was burning near the back of the suite,” says West Kelowna Assistant Fire ChiefDarren Lee. “Smoke had already spread to adjoining units and the roof of the large structure via the buildings HVAC system and common attic space. Crews were able to knock down the main body of fire with an offensive interior fire attack.”
Lee says there were no occupants inside the building and that the cause of the fire is not known but it does not appear to be suspicious.
