First ever recall of medicinal marijuana in Canada underway

A Nanaimo, B.C.-based medical marijuana supplier is voluntarily recalling one batch of product due to issues with the company’s production practices.

Greenleaf Medicinals is recalling one batch of Purple Kush (Batch PK-10-20-13). Issues with the batch were identified during a recent inspection by Health Canada.

The supplier says clients should immediately discontinue use of any marijuana from this shipment. Greenleaf is working with other licensed producers to find a supply of marijuana for those clients impacted by the recall.

This is the first ever recall of medicinal marijuana by Health Canada.
