HALIFAX — Police are seeking the public’s help to find a man linked to two robberies this week.
Halifax Regional Police say a Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for 38-year-old Richard Lee Hartlin.
On April 16 around 7:20 p.m. a man entered a Sobey’s grocery store on Windsor Street in Halifax and approached a cashier. He handed her a note indicating he had a weapon and demanded cash. He left with an undisclosed amount of money.
Then on April 19 around 9:00 p.m. Halifax police received a call of a robbery at a Petro Canada gas station on Herring Cove Road. In that instance, a man entered the store, handed the clerk a note and displayed what police describe as a sawed-off shotgun. The man was given money and fled.
Police say Hartlin is a person of interest in these two robberies and a parole warrant for his arrest is still outstanding.
He’s described as a white male, 6-feet-tall, 190 lbs. Officers say he is considered armed and dangerous.
If Hartlin is spotted, the public should not approach him and should call 9-1-1 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
