WATCH: NASA comes to Salmon Arm

Students at Salmon Arm West elementary School had the thrill of a lifetime this morning.

Grade three, four and five students had the chance to have a skype conversation with retired astronaut, Chris Hadfield.

And as if that wasn’t enough, they also go to visit with former NASA engineer, and Salmon Arm resident, Bruce Aikenhead.

Aikenhead was a driving force behind the Canadarm. He was also involved in hiring Hadfield as an astronaut.

Both Hadfield and Aikenhead encouraged the students to dream big, and to aim for whatever career interests them most.
