Moncton woman survives car crash into banks of Petitcodiac River

MONCTON, N.B. – RCMP in the Moncton area say a woman is lucky to be alive after the car she was driving crashed into the muddy banks of the Petitcodiac River.

Police say the woman was driving down Pine Glen Road yesterday morning in Riverview and went through the traffic lights at Coverdale Road.

The car wound up right beside the river.

Police say the woman suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, but the car is a write-off.

Police say they are not ruling out the possibility the woman may have had a medical issue.
