Calgary firefighters are reminding everyone about the dangers of frozen waterways at this time of year, after two boys were rescued from a pond.

At around 6.30 Monday evening, crews were called to the city’s southeast after reports two young boys had fallen through the ice in Valley View Park.

The boys were first spotted by a passerby who managed to pull them to safety using a rope.

The boys, who were reportedly playing on the ice when it broke, were wet and cold, but otherwise fine.
