A seat has been open on council since mid-February, after councillor Wade Galloway passed away in an avalanche at Waterton Lakes National Park.

Mayor Chris Spearman says while his absence hasn’t been easy, filling the spot is inevitable.

“It’s going to be good to have somebody in the chair. It’s always difficult to lose a member of council, the chemistry changes when the make-up of council changes,” said Spearman. “We’ll get somebody on with a different background who will add another dimension to council.”
