CALGARY- Two more cases of measles have been confirmed in Calgary schools.
Alberta Health Services says one affected a student at Henry Wise Wood High School, while the other was at Sherwood School, a K-9 school in the community of Ogden.
Health officials cross-referenced staff and student lists with immunization records, and those who were not vaccinated against measles have been contacted.

“There were lists out about who couldn’t come to school and who could, and I know a lot of kids got sent home and a lot of teachers were absent today,” says Grade 12 student Matthew Lawrence.
Medical Officer of Health Judy MacDonald says officials are being cautious, to try and prevent the spread of infection.
“Under our public health guidelines, our requirements here in Alberta, we are required to exclude individuals that we don’t know are in-immune to measles from school, and from activities outside the home for a period of time…to make sure they are not going to potentially infect others.”
There have been a number of measles outbreaks recorded in recent weeks, including at Western Canada High School and at two popular southwest Calgary restaurants.
