A Lower Mainland teenager is now safe after allegedly being held against her will for months in Calgary and being forced into prostitution.
Investigators say the trouble began when the 18-year-old answered an ad about some available housing. The teen’s roommate is facing a string of charges including sexual assault, forcible confinement, extortion and voyeurism.
Thirty-one-year-old Amanda McGee is accused of plying the teen with drugs and manipulating her psychologically with threats to her family.
McGee is scheduled to be in court in Calgary on Tuesday.
