REGINA – The City of Regina says it is on schedule and on budget to complete the $28.2-million site preparation for the stadium project at Evraz Place.

Starting Monday, Elphinstone Street from Saskatchewan Drive to just south of Dewdney Avenue will be closed to traffic for seven weeks, while a new water main is being installed.

$5.2-million has already been spent on site preparation to date. That money has gone towards new gas and electricity lines, as well as upgrades to telecommunications.

“We wanted to be ready to go, so the site needed work prior to them getting going,” said the Deputy City Manager Brent Sjoberg. “In order to allow them to meet their timeline, we’ve kind of sequenced things.”
