CALGARY- The City of Calgary’s new flood prep website has gone live.
The site will provide up-to-date information about how the city is preparing for high water levels, and how Calgarians can protect themselves in the event of flooding.
There is also a section detailing how homeowners can guard their property against water, such as moving electrical panels out of the basement and ensuring sump pumps have a backup power supply.
Despite the efforts, some victims of the 2013 flood who are still cleaning up their homes are criticizing the emergency plan, saying they want to see more mitigation efforts and less public relations exercises.
