OTTAWA – Health Canada says Procter & Gamble is voluntarily recalling two different brands of Oral B mouthwash due to possible contamination.
The products being recalled are: Oral B Anti-Cavity Dental Rinse – Alcohol Free and Oral-B Anti-Bacterial with Fluoride – Alcohol Free Daily Use Mouthrinse.
Health Canada says the mouthwashes are being recalled due to possible microbial contamination.
According to Procter & Gamble, the microbial level, if present, poses virtually no risk to healthy people.
However, people with severely weakened immune systems – such as those with cystic fibrosis – may be at greater risk of adverse health effects.
Procter & Gamble is requesting that retailers immediately stop selling the affected products.
Consumers are advised to discard the affected product and contact Procter & Gamble for a refund.
The company can be reached by calling 1-800-566-7252 from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET.
