35 more red-light cameras are now live at intersections across B.C.
The Ministry of Public Safety and the Solicitor General says 250 crashes occur daily at intersections across the province.
70 cameras are now being rotated through 140 sites, up from 120 sites.
Not all cameras are active at the same time, and they are rotated based on historical and current crash data. The program should be fully implemented by the fall.
The Ministry expects the cameras will reduce causality crashes at the intersections by six per cent annually.
The program was first introduced in 1999 in the hopes of cutting t-bone crashes at intersections.
