After one of the most successful runs in junior hockey history, the head coach of the Vernon Vipers is moving on.
Mark Ferner won two straight national championships and came within a game of winning a third straight title with the Vipers this spring.
Now, Ferner has accepted the position of head coach with the Everett Silver Tips of the Western Hockey League.
His assistant Jason Williamson has been promoted to the head coaching position.
Williamson is a former Viper himself, having played for the team between 1999 and 2002.
