At 5:15 PM radar shows an area of intense thunderstorms on radar near from Ituna to just northeast of Regina moving northeast at 40 km/h. These storms have a history hail, the largest being up to golf ball sized. Brief and heavy down pours are also likely.
This is a warning that severe thunderstorms are imminent or occurring in these regions. Remember that some severe thunderstorms produce tornadoes. Listen for updated warnings.

As of late-afternoon thunderstorms have developed along a cold front moving into Western Saskatchewan. There have been wind gusts of 90-100 km/h associated with some of these storms. This cold front is expected to sweep through the province during the evening hours. Some of the storms along the front may be severe, with damaging winds and large hail being the main threats.
Furthermore…Well ahead of the cold front convective development is occurring in the warm, humid airmass currently over much of Southern and Central Saskatchewan. Scattered thunderstorms have developed in this area ahead of the cold front with reports of golf ball size hail. Large hail and damaging winds would be likely with any such storms that develop.
The threat of severe weather will end late tonight as the cold front moves through ushering in cooler, less humid air.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of central and southern Saskatchewan.
Thunderstorms…Some severe…Are expected this afternoon into this evening along and in advance of an approaching cold front.
This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop late this afternoon or early this evening in this area ahead of the cold front. Large hail and damaging winds would be likely with any such storms that develop.
