One person has been sent to hospital after a late night fire badly damaged a home on Vancouver’s west side.
Firefighters encountered heavy smoke when they arrived at the two-storey home on West 5th Avenue near Bayswater.

Crews say the home is badly damaged even though they were able to keep the flames from spreading.
The cause is now under investigation.
