REGINA – Regina police are asking the public to be on the lookout for two women connected to an investigation into a house fire, and subsequent homicide, in the 1400 block of Wascana Street.

Early Wednesday afternoon police confirmed that the body found in a burned house last weekend was the victim of a homicide. The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Ray Allen Yacevich.

“It’s certainly a very strong theory that the fire was deliberately set. But by whom, we don’t know,” said Elizabeth Popowich of the Regina Police Service, Friday.

Hour after police ruled the case a homicide, it was revealed that investigators have not been able to locate two women who lived in the home – 41-year-old Rosalyn Faye Wilm and her 22-year-old daughter Sarah Dawn Louisa Wilm. The women were last seen at the home the night before the fire.

“We don’t know what role, if any, they played in the events at the house. We don’t know if they’re alive and well. We haven’t heard from them, and no-one that we’ve talked to has heard from them,” said Popowich.
