Amateur fishermen in the Okanagan are in luck: the Go Fish program has been extended until Sunday, June 19.
The special fishing area in Shannon Lake Regional Park and the Hall Road pond in Mission Creek Regional Park will be restocked with several hundred rainbow trout.
Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Parks Services staff will be on hand to pass out rods, reels and bait for kids under the age of 16.
The Go Fish program is supported by the Peachland Sportsmen’s Association, Lonely Loon Flyfishers Society, Kelowna Fish and Game Club, the Ministry of Environment, Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. and the Summerland Trout Hatchery.
