The Shuswap Lake has shown signs it is close to cresting.
As of Monday morning, the level of the lake was at 348.483 metres above sea level.
This level is just shy of the 348.700 metres the lake is projected to peak at.
Earlier this month, the lake was rising at a rate of 5 cm per day.
However that rate has been slowing down and as of this weekend, the lake was rising in the range of approximately 0.5 to 1.0 cm per 24 hour period.
The rising temperatures have been influencing how the snow packs have been melting.
A brief period of warmer weather forecast for the middle of this week will likely increase the melt rate but it is not anticipated to have a major impact on the rate of increase.
