REGINA – Mosaic has laid off 51 workers at its potash operations in Saskatchewan.

The company blames market conditions for the cuts.

She confirmed that the cuts will impact workers at all four locations in the province.

Mosaic operates three potash mines in Belle Plaine, Colonsay and Esterhazy and has an office in Regina.

She could not give any details about how many and what kind of positions would be affected at each site.

“Current market conditions just required at this point that we review our options so that we can remain competitive and continue to turn around and invest in the province,” Fedorchuck said on Monday.
