TORONTO – Environment Canada is warning a mix of snow and freezing rain could be moving through much of Southern Ontario including the Greater Toronto Area Friday.
Environment Canada issued the freezing rain warning shortly after 1 p.m., warning people should take “necessary safety precautions.”
The weather agency said earlier Toronto could see as much as two to four centimetres of snow by Friday evening.
Current indications suggest precipitation for most regions extending from southern Lake Huron to the Golden Horseshoe would begin tonight with snow or freezing rain mixed with ice pellets.
To the north, from Grey-Bruce through the Kawarthas to Kingston and Brockville, a significant snowfall is possible and snow could be heavy at times overnight.
Toronto will reach a high of 6 degrees Celsius with a low of zero Celsius by the evening hours.
