Beaufille moves away from florals

WATCH: Beaufille’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection

Beaufille (formerly Chloe Comme Parris) continues to wow their fans with a collection at Toronto fashion week that was strong on the outerwear.

The collection, which was “girl takes a gap year and goes to Tibet”, featured moody colours (grey, black and dull red) highlighted by texture and some Asian influences.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

It was subversive thanks to the sisters’ (Chloé and Parris Gordon) use of hardware to highlight the seams of their outerwear and to add a little extra to their knits.

Beaufille’s collection shows a maturing of the pair’s aesthetic – moving from the expected floral to an edgier look without losing their appeal and alienating their fans.

What was also appealing is that the entire collection was meant to be worn with flats. These girls want to look good but they also want to be comfortable.
