LONDON – The Ministry of Defence says British forces have hit the intelligence agency building in Tripoli and a training base for bodyguards protecting members of Moammar Gadhafi’s regime.
Maj. Gen. John Lorimer says that Tornado jets and Tomahawk missiles fired from HMS Triumph were used to strike at the two sites on Monday evening.
Lorimer said Tuesday that the targets were "at the heart of the apparatus used by the regime to brutalize the civilian population."
Defence Secretary Liam Fox said Monday that NATO bombing strikes would not end until Gadhafi stopped killing his own people.
