Rabbi gets 2 months in jail for groping Israeli Army officer during flight to NYC

<p>NEW YORK, N.Y. – An Orthodox rabbi has been sentenced to two months behind bars for groping an Israeli Army officer on a flight to New York.</p> <p>A magistrate judge jailed Gavriel Bidany on Thursday after handing down the sentence in federal court in Brooklyn. Bidany had been free on $500,000 bail.</p> <p>The 47-year-old Bidany was convicted at a nonjury trial. The officer testified that the rabbi fondled her when she fell asleep on a Delta flight from Tel Aviv on March 27.</p> <p>The rabbi claimed that he never touched her. But the magistrate said he found the victim’s testimony “wholly believable.”</p> <p>Bidany, a married father of 11 children, lives in a Tel Aviv suburb.</p>
