Police: Suspect in Missouri Army base break-in attempt taken into custody

<p>ROLLA, Mo. – Police say they’ve captured a man who tried breaking into a Missouri Army base and later fired on police during a high-speed chase.</p> <p>Rolla Police say the suspect, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.</p> <p>Rolla Police Chief Mark Kearse identified the suspect as 31-year-old Cody N. Willcoxson.</p> <p>Willcoxson lives in Missouri’s South West City, near the Oklahoma border. He was released from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in 2008 after serving about 3 1/2 years for burglary, escaping from jail, and other felonies.</p> <p>Authorities say the suspect drove through a security gate at Fort Leonard Wood Thursday morning and fired on police during a chase. They believe he later entered and left a building at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.</p>
