Police probe spate of weekend shootings in Halifax area

<p>HALIFAX – Police investigators have their hands full after a half-dozen shootings over the weekend in the Halifax area.</p> <p>Halifax Regional Police say charges are pending against four people – two women, a man and a boy – after a shot rang through the ceiling of a city apartment on Saturday night.</p> <p>The resident of the apartment on Main Avenue was not injured.</p> <p>Police are still looking for suspects in several other shootings, including an incident Saturday afternoon that saw a man and a woman hit by shots from a BB gun at a busy Halifax intersection.</p> <p>Police say the woman was hit in the face and the man in the shoulder at the corner of Oxford Street and Quinpool Road – their injuries were described as minor.</p> <p>Officers are also investigating the case of a 17-year-old boy who showed up in a Halifax hospital early Saturday morning with a gunshot wound to his leg.</p> <p>On Sunday, police say a woman who lives on Romans Avenue woke up to find a bullet hole in her front door.</p> <p>Meanwhile, RCMP received two reports early Saturday morning of shots fired near two houses in Timberlea, just outside Halifax.</p>
