Island couple strikes it rich with $5.6m 6/49 win; biggest jackpot in P.E.I. ever

<p>CHARLOTTETOWN – A P.E.I. couple has struck it rich in the largest lottery jackpot ever won by Islanders.</p> <p>Roger and Cathy Jones were presented in Charlottetown today with a cheque for $5.6 million for buying the winning ticket in Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 draw.</p> <p>Roger Jones says he buys the same numbers twice a week.</p> <p>He says he checked the winning numbers at 4 a.m. on Sunday – Mother’s Day – and let his wife of 40 years sleep until 6:30 a.m. before waking her with the good news.</p>
